KPC COTEC Medical Company
(KCMC) is a Uganda based company operating with aim to increase access to
specialty medical services and advanced diagnostic services.

Under COTEC Medical Hub (CMH),
we plan to offer medical services including but not limited to: Radiology,
Imaging, Laboratory, Gynecology, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ENT,
Oncology, Urology, Cardiology. Pathology and Nephrology.

Job Summary:   The Human Resource Officer will develop,
monitor, maintain and implement human resource management policies, systems,
structures and processes m line with Company’s objectives and mission.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Set up a long term human resource
    development strategy
  • Establish recruiting plans and
    procedures tor KCMC offices in liaison with the General and Project
    Manager.
  • Advertise vacant roles to the Public as
    authorized. Screen and short list resumes and applications received and
    conducting candidate reference checks. Schedule and conduct interviews
    with Managers.
  • Prepare starter packs (Employee Manual,
    benefits package, IDs, business cards, name tags) for new employees.
  • Hire, develop and retain the best talent
    available to support the company’s strategic needs. 
  • Promote equity,
    transparency, and consistency in selection stalls.
  • Manage employee orientation process, on
    boarding and the first 90-days including probation period tracking.
  • Work closely with Senior Management on
    recruitment, promotions, demotions, transfers, departures etc.

Performance Management:

  • Participate in development of Company‘s
    and departmental work plans.
  • Participate in determination of Key
    Result Areas, Targets and performance indicators for all staffs.
  • Manage performance systems, drive focus
    on performance management. monthly, quarterly and annual review.
  • Schedule and conduct appraisals with
    respective line managers.

Leave Management:

  • Keep track of annual, compassionate,
    maternity, paternity and sick leaves tor staff Review Leave management and
    ensure timely processing in the leave management system.
  • Manage Staff disciplinary issues with
    the direction of the Project Manager and General Manager in line with the
    relevant Company Policies and Procedures,

HR Administration:

  • Maintain the safety and welfare of the
    stall. Make communications on all internal policies and procedures as well
    as external regulations and applicable labour laws to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and ensure correctness and
    completion of HR records and documentation including Personnel files,
    organization charts and databases.

Staff Salaries

  • Manage administration of personnel
    benefits and compliance with tax laws, including employee terms and
    conditions of service, salaries & benefits, employment contracts, etc
  • Participate in the supervision of Staff
    to ensure that the company gets values for money, & HR Policies
  • Lead the development, and regular review
    of comprehensive HR policies, plans, strategies and guidelines.
  • Lead on correct interpretation of the
    terms and conditions of employment, practices and procedures as contained
    in the Company’s HR Manual, and that are aligned to the current
    legislations, field best practices, and to ensure equity.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, interpretation
    and technical support to Management in the areas of HR management

Capacity Building

  • Identity needs and opportunities to
    develop careers and support capacity among the HR staff and colleagues.
  • Initiate, develop or lead internal and
    external networks in order to influence problem solving, decisions and
    collaborative partnerships

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant should possess a MBChB and
    a Masters in Clinical Medicine such as internal Medicine, Pediatrics or an
    equivalent
  • At least five years of postgraduate
    experience in private or public healthcare management.
  • At least three (3) years in senior
    clinical practice with management / leadership roles in a healthcare
    facility
