BRAC Uganda Health Program
The health Program in Uganda
began in 2008 to ensure that people living in poverty can access quality,
affordable health services. The goal of the BRAC health program is to improve
maternal health and reduce under-5 child morbidity and mortality.
BRAC Uganda through its health
program will be implementing a USAID funded Health Systems Strengthening
Activity in 60 districts of Uganda. The purpose of the Uganda Health Systems
Strengthening (UHSS) activity is to strengthen Uganda’s health system through
technical assistance that will improve leadership era accountability for
results in public and private health sectors at national, sub-national, and
community levels; implement innovative interventions that increase efficient
use, governance, and management of key health system resources including human
resources for health, finance, equipment I infrastructure; and strengthen state
and no state community health systems that are critical for improved quality of
health services.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
·
Be the main liaison I focal point tor all
e-health related engagements and support to the BRAC Health program, Ministry
of Health, and other partners working in the ehealth space in Uganda.
·
Be the strategic lead for BRAC’s e-health,
providing technical support to all the cadres in BRAC health program.
·
Support the respective districts to ensure
timely and correct reporting through the DHISZ, and support strengthening of
the e-Health system in a sustainable way.
·
Work with the MoH and provide direct technical
support to the Ministry of Health in DHISZ integration, data use, and other
e-health related technical assistance that may arise from time to time.
·
Develop a strategy to ensure that there is a
seamless support structure for all Community Health Workers using mobile
applications for reporting
·
Safeguarding roles
•
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm,
abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation. Act as a key source of support,
guidance and expertise on safe guarding for establishing a safe working
environment.
•
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safe
guarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of
safeguarding standards in every course of action‘
•
Follow the safe guarding reporting procedure in
case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·
Bachelors in Computer Studies / Information
Technology or related. An advanced degree in an l.T related field
·
2-3 years’ experience in implementing e-health
in the health system, preferably in the e-community health space
·
String understanding of the interface between
health programming arid e-health
·
Exposure to the current knowledge about the
existing e-health systems in the country,
·
Strong knowledge of software trouble shooting
skills.
·
Flexible to work at remote location and ability
to travel long distances
·
Strong and innovative problem solving skills in
relation to health systems.
