Job Summary:  The Business Development Manager will be
responsible for developing and deploying strategic business development plans
and initiatives based on the organization’s goals and objectives to promote
sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. The Business
Development Manager will also be responsible for providing leadership,
direction, and business intelligence to the business development function.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

·        
Develop and implement strategic business plans
for growth;

·        
Develop proposals on business development
opportunities and viable income streams;

·        
Identify and develop critical business
opportunities and integrate them into the corporate planning procedures;

·        
Lead the data management and business
development analysis by leveraging the existing Management Information System
(MIS) to ensure consistent information supply and the development of insights
to enhance business efficiencies;

·        
Develop and disseminate periodic reports on
business opportunities for the organization;

·        
Manage the performance and professional development
of the team;

·        
Support and guide key deliverables for timely
completion of Business Development projects;

·        
Build and maintain relationships with new and
existing customers;

·        
Develop strategic partnerships with key
stakeholders in the sector;

·        
Maintain industry knowledge and stay up-to-date
on the latest market trends, challenges, opportunities and ensure the business
is well positioned to meet them; and

·        
Conduct research, analytics and develop reports
to identify new opportunities, markets and customers.

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
A Master’s degree in Business, or Business
Administration from a recognized university;

·        
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Development,
Business Administration, Commerce, Finance Economics, Marketing or any Business
related course from a recognized university;

·        
A Professional qualification in Business
Analytics, Marketing or related courses will be an added advantage;

·        
Six (6) years of relevant professional
experience in Business Development three (3) of which are at a Middle
Management level in a busy environment;

·        
Experience in conducting business analytics or
using data driven tools and methods in business development;

·        
Exposure to project management tools and
techniques would be an added advantage;

·        
Demonstrable good interpersonal, communication
and presentation; and

·        
Excellent organization skills.
