About US:

The mission of the
Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to strengthen health systems in Africa,
with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases through research and capacity
development. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment, Global Health Security, Training,
Research, Laboratory services (including the CAPcertified IDI Core Lab) and
Outreach.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

·        
Working
with the SMC mobilizer, facility SMC focal person and the facility mobiliser,
lead the site team in making activity work plans that will guide mobilization
and SMC service delivery.

·        
Supervise
theatre assistants in order to ensure that the minimum standards for SMC are
maintained e.g. infection prevention, health care waste management, personal
protection and the theatre environment.

·        
Ensure
that activity data is regularly and timely compiled and reported including
regular site-specific activity reports, and ensuring that these are entered
into DHIS2 NOMAD and other reporting data bases.

·        
Lead
site static and outreach SMC activities.

·        
Provide
post-operative care to SMC clients.

·        
 Any other duty as may be assigned.

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

·        
Diploma
in Nursing from a recognized institution.

·        
Minimum
of two years’ work and leadership experience in a clinical and surgical setting
is required.

·        
Additional
training in HIV/AIDS and SMC will be an added advantage

·        
Ability
to communicate with clients in local language is desirable.

·        
Knowledge
and understanding of SMC for HIV prevention.

·        
Demonstrated
leadership skills in a health care setting are essential with the ability to
work in a multidisciplinary team.
