Uganda Limited (ABUL) is a Nation Media Group company which is currently operating
NTV and SPARK TV.
Job Summary: The English News Producer will plan,
coordinate and produce reliable, objective and authoritative news in line with
the NTV mandate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Plan,
prepare and monitor live broadcast of news in line with the NTV strategic
objectives.
·
Brief, debrief,
guide and monitor reporters to confirm story deadlines are achieved within
specified times in line with the editorial policy.
·
Edit
news scripts, write headlines and make key decisions on story aesthetics in
line with the editorial policy.
·
Conduct
quality control of content before broadcasts in line with the editorial policy.
·
Lead the
editorial content generation process in line with the editorial policy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant
must hold a Basic University Degree.
·
Post
graduate training in the media industry.
·
Five years
of experience in the media industry with a proven ability to conceptualize,
edit and execute Television stories and an excellent command of the British
English language.
Core Competencies
·
Passion
for writing coupled with a keen news sense.
·
Possesses
broad knowledge of local and regional issues and/or depth of knowledge in beat
specialty.
·
Ability
to work accurately and under pressure.
·
Deadline
driven.
·
Computer
literate.
·
Must
have a good eye for detail.
·
Excellent
spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
·
Must be
able to deal effectively with simultaneous tasks.
