years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for
refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of
displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education,
emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene
sectors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Customizing training model in Agronomy and support training.
  • Integration of environmental protection in implementation.
  • Technical support of LFS Technical Assistant
  • Follow up of Business groups and providing technical oversight.
  • Promoting products and techniques through training presentations
  • Keeping detailed records regarding fields, beneficiaries, crops, and
    samples.
  • Assisting with the plant selection process, planting and budgets,
    and timelines.
  • Studying plants and soil in order to develop better planting,
    cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield, and solve
    problems facing the famer beneficiaries

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Livelihoods
    and Food Security (LFS) Officer – Agronomy job placement should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field
  • Three years of experience working directly with farmers
  • Candidates with proof of having worked with FFS projects have an
    advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new concepts
  • Qualified female candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Good Time management
  • Excellent ICT skills (word, Excel and power point)
  • Excellent training and presentation skills
  • Very good team work, openness, patience, respect for target groups
    and divergent options.
