refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of
displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education,
emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene
sectors.

Job Summary:  The Livelihoods and Food Security (LFS) Officer-
VSLA will provide guidance and lead the implementation of VSLA group formation
in the target counties or communities.


We are particularly
looking for a positive individual with strong communication and interpersonal
skills who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and
externally at different levels, and Increase the capacity of smallholders to
improve agriculture productivity, and target household enables to produce
nutritious and marketable foods

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitate training on core VSLA modules for established VSLA
    groups;
  • Integration of environmental protection in implementation.
  • Technical support of LFS Technical Assistant
  • Follow up of VSLA groups and providing technical oversight.
  • Technically lead to mobilize and establish VSLA groups in the
    selected communities;
  • Provide weekly update on VSLA activities to the project coordinator
  • Monitor all VSLA groups and collect relevant data for reporting the
    project progress status
  • Participate in beneficiary selection with relevant stakeholders;
  • Follow up the day to day progress of VSLA groups and make
    recommendation for improving the project according to activity results
  • Write project activity reports and submit to project coordinator as
    required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Livelihoods
    and Food Security (LFS) Officer- VSLA job placement should hold a First
    degree in relevant studies such as Finance and Administration,
    Agricultural Business/Economics, Rural Development and Community
    Development.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially: Word and Excel Good
    working knowledge of modern communication systems
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Personal qualities
  • Communicates and liaises with others
  • Capacity of team work, ability to work in a team
  • Intercultural Competence
  • Gender sensitive
  • Willing to learn and share knowledge
  • Professionalism integrity and commitment to project demands
