Mother-and Child Health; and Supporting Small Holder Farmers to Access Markets.
WFP has operations in various parts of the Country.
Job Summary: The Programme Associate (Digital Support) will
provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and
programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support DLG information management system assessment to enable
readiness for benefits and social transfers; - Co-lead process analysis, design and re-engineering efforts in
support of technology/digital implementation; - Provide technical support and assist in the development and
implementation of various activities and processes within the specific
area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and
guidelines. - Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the
specific technical area of work (e.g. assistance programmes, food security
and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to
stakeholders. - Liaise with DLGs and other partners to support effective
collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project
activities. - Act as focal point for resolution of a range of operational queries
and problems within the digital programming area; - Interpret and apply WFP CSP plans and programmes as aligned to DLG
plans and support the re-design and reengineering efforts in support of
technology/digital implementation; - Support the Programme teams in the coordination and reconciliation
of benefit transfer management and work across teams to recommend delivery
systems; - Conduct due diligence on solutions design at area office, field
office and DLG level to ensure proposals meet WFP requirements; - Support field teams and DLGs in the release of digital systems and
provide early life support to prepare for and enable proper use of the
digital solutions. - Resolve users queries independently, escalating if required, to
ensure that standard IT questions are answered, and accurate information
is provided - Support in the preparation of materials and the delivery of training
on automated business processes to ensure efficient and effective use of
IT Systems - Collect and collate programming data, conduct basic analysis to
support the development of accurate reports - Maintain a high level of market, service provider and technological
systems embodied within the DLGs - Prepare the submission of intern and external sitreps
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations UN World Food Programme
(WFP) Programme Associate (Digital Support) job placement should hold qualifications
in IT or a Degree in Computer Science or an IT related field - A minimum of three years of operational experience in high volume
accountability driven digital environment - At least one- year sound experience in developing digital solutions
and; - Experience in working on innovative digital solutions to support the
programme and other partners - Proven technical skills and experience
- Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
- Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
- Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
Competencies:
- Programme Lifecycle & Food Assistance: Demonstrates ability to identify key
variables and contextual factors that affect food assistance problems and
programmes throughout the lifecycle to inform quality programme design or
re-design. - Transfer Modalities (Food, Cash, Vouchers): Demonstrates ability to implement, under
guidance, food assistance programmes deploying the full range of transfer
modalities with an understanding of basic principles guiding modality
selection and implementation. - Broad Knowledge of Specialized Areas: Understands basic technical concepts
and data and their relevance to food assistance programmes. - Emergency Programming: Displays capacity to provide inputs into the development,
implementation and realignment of high quality emergency programmes. - Strategic Policy Engagement w/Government: Understands and applies basic
principles of engagement with government counterparts at the national or
local level.
