Job Summary:  The Tyre Technician will repair vehicles as
per the repair order with efficiency and accuracy. The jobholder will examine
and identify any faults on the chassis/ engines and give technical advice on
the required repairs and /or replacement parts. The incumbent will check and
ensure that quality work is carried out on customers’ vehicles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for safety, economy and accuracy of own work or work
    assigned apprentice. Care of customers’ property
  • Work Efficiency to carry out work within the Company’s set times
  • Quality of Work to carry out repair work in accordance with the
    dealership and factory standards.
  • To check own work after completion
  • Clean Work Environment Maintain the work bay neat and clean at all
    times.
  • Dispose any hazardous waste in accordance with the state regulations
    (NEMA).
  • Cost Control Account for dealership owned tools at all times.
  • Customer Service to ensure that customers vehicles are kept safe and
    clean.
  • Not to cause accidental damage to customer’s vehicles
  • Communication Liaise with line supervisor to obtain required
    materials. Give feedback on work in progress.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Certificate/Diploma in motor vehicle Craft
    I & II Grade I Trade Test, Final Proficiency, Craft III
  • At least three years of related work
  • To have served as a recognized apprenticeship.
  • To have undertaken manufacturer’s training.
  • To have experience on manufacturer’s model range.
  • Computer literate
  • Good interpersonal relationship.
