About ESC:

The Education
Service Commission (ESC) is established by article 167 91) of the 1995
Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its
functions, authority and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of
Education Service Commission is to see “quality education delivered by
efficient and effective education service personnel.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To identify and compile possible sources for scholarship in
    accordance with identified manpower needs;
  • To liaise with the supervisor in processing of Scholarships;
  • To compile and maintain an up to date Register of all students
    studying at home and abroad and the institutions they are enrolled in;
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the
    supervisor.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Honors Bachelor’s Degree
    plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized
    University/Institution;
  • Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  • Below 50 Years

Applications are
invited from suitably qualified persons from within the Education Service to
fill posts that have fallen vacant in the Ministry of Education and Sports
Headquarters.

Applications should
be submitted in triplicate on Education Service Commission form 3 (1998) to the
Secretary, Education Service Commission, P.O. BOX 7196, Kampala

Applications should
bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against
the vacancy.

Applicants should
attach photocopies of Academic Certificates and Transcripts plus three recent
passports size photograph Serving Officers should attach appointment and
confirmation letters and recent pay slips. Qualifications from only recognized
institutions will be considered.

Serving officers
MUST route their applications through their Heads of Institutions/Departments,
who should be advised of the closing date to avoid delays. Applications that
are not properly routed will not be considered.
