About US:
Uganda Investment
Authority (UIA), set up under the investment code 1991 is a statutory agency
mandated to initiate and support measures that enhance investment in Uganda and
to advise Government on appropriate policies conducive for investment promotion
and growth.
Job Summary: The Deputy Director Finance will support the
Director – Finance and Administration to put in place the financial and
accounting policies, systems and procedures necessary to support effective
implementation of the Authority’s mandate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director Finance and Administration in planning and
budgeting for the Authority - Developing, maintaining and implementing modern financial and
accounting controls to enhance accountability and ensure value for money. - Setting Revenue collection targets for Senior Investment Executive
Finance - Ensuring that proper books of accounts are kept
- Preparing financial statements in accordance with applicable
accounting standards - Undertaking financial performance analysis
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors
- Directing, supervising, developing and mentoring departmental staff
- Preparing periodic financial performance reports
- Executing any other undertakings as may be assigned by the Director
– Finance and Administration
Key Result Areas:
- UIA annual budget prepared and approved as per statutory requirements
- Financial Performance Reports prepared in a timely manner
- Audited Financial Statements prepared as per statutory requirements.
- UIA annual report.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the Uganda investment Authority (UIA) Deputy
Director Finance career placement must hold a Master’s degree in finance
or Accounting - Professional qualification in CPA or ACCA is a MUST
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Membership with ICPAU is a MUST
- Seven years of experience in financial management or accounting with
at least five years at senior management level. - Strong team building and interpersonal relations skills
- Computer literacy and experience in using modern e-accounting
packages - Strong team building, communication and interpersonal relations
skills.
