organizations today.

Job Summary:  The Database Administrator will be part of the
Technical Department/Unit, and your purpose is to manage Database systems under
PTC portfolio. Under the direction of the CTO, you will also be responsible for
ensuring PTC systems are functioning optimally. You are expected to work
closely with the Product marketing department to prepare admissible technical
documentation for the company’s profile and products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Database Admin

·        
Installing
and upgrading the database server and application tool

·        
Allocating
system storage and planning storage requirements for the database system

·        
Modifying
the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application
developers

·        
Enrolling
users and maintaining system security

·        
Ensuring
compliance with database vendor license agreement

·        
Controlling
and monitoring user access to the database

·        
Monitoring
and optimizing the performance of the database

·        
Planning
for backup and recovery of database information

·        
Maintaining
archived data

·        
Generating
various reports by querying from database as per need

·        
Managing
and monitoring data replication

·        
Acting
as liaison with users and the vendors

·        
Progress
monthly reports

·        
Perform
other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

·        
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bsc degree in Computer science,

·        
Certification
in Databases is an added advantage

·        
Two years
of working experience with MSQL / an accomplished MSQL project. 

·        
Demonstrate
good interpersonal skills to facilitate understanding and responding to staff
and client IT needs.

·        
An
ability to engage in the process of creating, acquiring and transferring
knowledge to inform the organizational processes.

·        
An
ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, open to giving and
receiving feedback about performance in the role.
