the National Carrier of the Republic of Uganda based at Entebbe International
Airport. It is headquartered in Entebbe, Wakiso District, Uganda, and operates
from its hub in Entebbe International Airport. 

Job Summary:    The Brand Manager will work with the
relevant business units within the Company to help ensure premium positioning
of the airline’s products through designs, aesthetic and quality control, as
well as undertake and manage co-brand partnerships to achieve a consistently
high level of customer experience and brand delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the planning and development
    of new and existing products, focusing on aesthetic aspects, designs,
    functionality and usability, taking into consideration future trends and
    lifestyles.
  • Help with the artistic direction of air
    and ground products to ensure the airline’s premium positioning.
  • Monitor and oversee at various stages of
    product offering so that the materials used and parts and components
    achieve the finest standards in terms of quality, aesthetic and
    timeliness.
  • Enhance brand equity and customer
    experience through partnership with other brands, including support in
    planning, negotiation, contracts, implementation and relationship
    management.
  • Assist in formulating a product brand
    and design guide with regular updates.
  • Suggest innovative ideas in the area of
    customer-facing products and designs.
  • Managing and developing the brand /
    product portfolio throughout the airline while monitoring growth
    strategies.
  • Implementing marketing strategy to
    support brand awareness or revenue growth from internal stakeholders
    ensure brand profitability.
  • With the Ad Agency, grows and develops
    the Uganda Airlines brand by ensuring a consistent and appropriate brand
    image is achieved and sustained.
  • Working with multiple UR teams including
    project managers, product developers, IT, HR, marketing personnel and
    external creative agencies to make sure UR’s company brand values and
    image are followed.
  • Ensures URs brand values are aligned
    with our customer’s expectations.
  • Keeping up to date with market trends
    and new developments and utilizing the information to present creative
    ideas.
  • Tracking budgets with an aim to maximize
    gains and reduce costs.
  • Managing the advertising agency and
    research team to analyse data to report on brand growth.
  • Growing marketing revenues by driving
    demand for the assigned airline assets.
  • Develops and implement creative and
    cost-effective plans to help educate the public about UR’s differentiation
    in the marketplace, value proposition, and business model.
  • Develops and implement programs and
    practices to help customers trust the UR brand.
  • Monitors the marketing activities of
    other airlines and the travel industry to recognize trends, and analyse
    trends to gauge their effectiveness. Diligently work to ensure UR is a
    trendsetter.
  • Creates accurate budgets and review
    weekly forecasts.
  • Monitors and enforce business practices
    that ensure compliance with regulations for sales. Work with legal and the
    business to adapt to new regulations as they occur.
  • Provides oversight and design input to
    ensure consistency of branding, voice and messaging across all Guest and
    Team Member touch points.
  • Communicates guidelines and ensures
    consistency across all Guest touchpoints (advertising, ugandairlines.com,
    inflight, airport services, loyalty, ancillary revenue, sales, HR and
    internal communications).
  • Works with external partners including
    airports, media to monitor brand consistency.
  • Maintain and evolve brand guidelines as
    required.
  • Management of branded promotional items.
  • Submitting systematic activities and
    results reports as requested.
  • Analyzing industry, competition and
    market trends and advising on improvements and or changes to improve the
    airline.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda
    Airlines Brand Manager job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Communications, Marketing or a Business-related course.
  • Two years of experience in Brand
    Management role.
  • Strong analytical, communication and
    interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with minimum supervision as
    well as part of a team
