Joint Clinical
Research Centre (JCRC) is a National Ugandan Organization that was established
in 1991 as a Medical Institution and HIV/AIDS Centre of Excellence specializing
in Medical Research, Health Care and Training.

Job Summary:  The Stores Assistant shall be responsible for
assisting the Head Stores with efficient inspection, receipt, storage, issuing
and transfer of stocks and preparation of records and reports of supplies in
the JCRC store.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Receive the materials according to the
  specifications enlisted in the supply order.
• Work with end user during a delivery to
  inspect materials for breakages, mechanical deficiencies, damages,
  shortages and any other deviations from the LPO.
• Demand for the certificate of quality
  from the technical officer before accepting the materials supplied.
• Work with the stores team to update all
  inventory quantities and values in Navision accounting system on a daily
  basis.
• Assist the stores team to produce
  monthly inventory consumption reports and share it by the 10th of every
  month with the users.
• Support the storekeeper to prepare
  relevant inventory receipt documents such as goods received note.
• Assist the storekeeper to plan and
  coordinate efficient storage of supplies for the allocated inventory
  categories.
• Proper issuing and transfer of stocks to
  the user departments.
• Offload and load of supplies from and to
  places within the JCRC network.
• Update stock/bin cards regularly.
• Arrange and clean the storeroom.
• Prepare stores related reports.
• Any other duty as may be assigned from
  time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The ideal candidate for the Joint
  Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) Stores Assistant job must hold any
  business related course such as Bachelor of Stores & Logistics
  Management, Bachelor of Business Administration among others from a
  recognized institution.
• Certificate in Logistics and Supply
  Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• One to two years of continuous experience
  in stores management.
• Extensive knowledge of Inventory
  control, warehousing, stock keeping, safety precautions pertaining to the
  work, including toxic and hazardous materials handling and storage
• Ability to Work effectively in a
  team-based organization focused on continuous improvement.
• High standards of integrity and
  flexibility.
• Communication and ICT skills.
