Job Summary:   The Acquisitions Manager will develop,
implement, monitor and ensure a comprehensive execution of MTN Uganda’s
Acquisitions strategy, New Channel Development & Overall growth of MTN
Uganda Distribution Footprint. Grow MoMo RGS30 & ensuring Sim Selling
Outlet (SSO) compliance requirements are met per the Industry regulatory
standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership in the creation and implementation of Sim Selling
    Outlets (SSOs) Channel/Outlet plans (strategy)
  • Implement and drive Channel plans to grow the number of Sim selling
    outlets to support the business plan Gross Adds set targets.
  • Ensure SSO footprint tracking & gap analysis with granular
    reporting on mPOS gaps up to site level.
  • Tracking of weekly mPOS agent productivity as a key enabler to
    achieve the desired daily activations targets.
  • Grow mPOS agent footprint & ensure an ongoing whitelist of Sim
    Swaps, Pin resets, data and airtime bundles outlets/ mini Service Centers
    as per the Business strategy
  • Manage mPOS agent KYC in line with regulatory & compliance
    standards through frequent reporting on compliance levels
  • Track sim card availability to support subscriber growth (Net
    Additions).
  • Grow RGS30 Mobile Money subscribers
  • Manage the execution of Channel plans and ensure Brand standards for
    Channels are adhered to
  • Manage the initiation and implementation of channel activations to
    drive acquisitions
  • Liaise with the Regional Business Managers to ensure excellent
    in-Trade activation and execution in line with Picture of Success
  • Provide Channel and Shopper thought leadership for acquisitions
    channel plans implementation
  • Manage the initiation and implementation of channel activations to
    drive acquisitions
  • Oversee respective stock planning, forecasting and analysis for
    distribution and main warehouses
  • Coordinate overall supply chain in the company for all distribution
    channel partners
  • Manage the implementation and execution of  acquisitions strategy and brand
    visibility nationally
  • Business Intelligence use for distribution optimization
  • Develop commission structures for dealers, agents and staff.
  • Build and maintain regular contacts with key channels to build
    stronger relationships.
  • Prepare or Liaise with the respective stakeholders on the value
    proposition to the consumers and Sim Selling Agents
  • Promote and ensure compliance with (MTN policies, processes and
    procedures, overall objectives of the organization, regulatory &
    legal)
  • Lead in establishing high level stakeholder interactions with the
    relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide and grow sales innovation aligned to the vision mission and
    strategic focus areas of the business.
  • Identify tools /technology that supports implementation of the
    acquisition strategy.
  • Closely work with IT to ensure necessary enhancements are done
    whenever there is a change in requirement.
  • Maintain professional working relationship with management, field
    and cross functional personnel, as well as customers and industry
    partners.
  • Team management – coach and train team in-line with company and HR
    objectives, carry-out regular development conversations and     performance reviews to build and
    develop talent.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda Acquisitions Manager job
    placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business
    Administration, Commerce or any other related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a related field and professional
    sales certification is an added advantage.
  • Five years’ experience in sales and distribution in a telecom
    company or service industry
  • Three years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Good knowledge of sales and retail Industry trends, best practice
    retail
  • Structured and organized approach to communicate
