About US:
The Prisons Act,
2006 provides for the mandate and functions of a Uganda Prisons Service
composed of Central and former Local Government Prisons and spells out the
duties of the UPS as to protect, promote and fulfill the rights of
those incarcerated.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
In
charge of coordinating crop husbandry activities on prisons farms;
·
Carrying
out project planning, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural activities;
·
Liaising
with other related organizations: e.g. NARO, NFA, District Agricultural
Institutes on Agricultural related activities;
·
Submitting
monthly, quarterly and annual reports on agricultural activities;
·
Identifying
agricultural inputs and implements;
·
Supervising
and appraising subordinate staff;
·
Working
out a comprehensive agricultural rehabilitation programmes for inmates;
·
Any
other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
Applicants
should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelors degree in Agriculture (Crop
option) from a recognized University or Institution.
·
Applicants
should have the following competencies: Results Orientation; Ethics and
Integrity; Interpersonal Skills; Ability to adapt to multi-cultural settings;
Communication Skills; Team Building and Problem Solving skills.

Age: 21-30 years
