National Medical
Stores is an autonomous Corporation that was established by an Act of
Parliament 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute medicines and
other medical supplies to public health facilities in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments
- Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and
trials - Recording and analyzing data
- Demonstrating procedures
- Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples
- Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the
equipment - Providing technical support
- Presenting results to senior staff
- Writing reports, reviews and summaries
- Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical
developments - Supervising staff
- Ordering and maintaining stock and resources
- To identify any risk (s) noted during the course of execution of
your duties and formally report to your immediate supervisor - Perform any other duties as may be assigned within the Department
from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the National Medical Stores (NMS) Laboratory
Technician job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Micro Biology, Bio
Chemistry, or Chemistry - At least three years of working experience as a laboratory
Technician in medicines testing in well-established Laboratory set up - Proficient in Computer applications
