Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards and
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point procedures and regulations are
adhered to and implemented by all shop dealers and suppliers. - Disseminates information and ensures compliance with hygiene
management methods for shops. - Develops product categories in terms of range optimisation,
turnover, margins and planograms. - Formulate strategies to improve the overall shop performance.
- Negotiates supply contracts with third parties for centralised
supply, rebates, competitive pricing, and marketing support and ensures
contract terms are respected. - Manages relationships with shop suppliers, holds regular business
review meetings, and supports implementation of the required remedial
measures. - Participates in identification, selection and carries out
performance management of shop dealers. - Conducts market intelligence.
- Mentors and trains Field Merchandisers and Retail Territory
Executives in the merchandising standards and planograms.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the TOTAL Shop Category Officer job opportunity
should hold a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration
degree or related field. - Three years of working experience in Sales and Marketing related
field, two of which should involve management of business partners. - Previous experience in retail operations or FMCG will be an added
advantage. - Computer literacy skills
- Hold a clean and valid Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Highly innovative.
- Must be flexible and quick to adapt.
- Must have a high level of integrity.
- Must have good analytical, communication and report writing skills.
