About US:

The Uganda Nurses
and Midwives Council is a semi-autonomous Health Professional Regulatory and
supervisory body under the Ministry of Health established by Uganda Nurses and
Midwives Act, 1996(CAP 276) with the mandate to set and regulate standards
training and practice of Nursing and Midwifery professions in Uganda for public
health safety.

Job Summary:    The Records Assistant will support the day to
day activities in the Registry

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To take files for action;
  • To retrieve files;
  • To maintain the file index, diary, out cards and registers;
  • To shelf or put away files;
  • Maintain file order on the cabinets and shelves
  • Check that action on the files is complete
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time, in line with
    the position

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should hold a Certificate in Records and
    Archives Management or Library and Information Science or its equivalent
    from a recognized awarding institution
  • At least a Uganda Certificate of Education with a minimum of six
    credits including English language
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a busy environment
  • Confidentiality
  • Integrity
  • Knowledge of basic computer programmes including Access, Excel and
    Microsoft word
  • Good organizational skills
  • Keen attention to details
