Job Summary: The Fleet Manager will maintain an efficient
and effective management of all the company’s fleet and associated equipment.
The jobholder will also ensure their control are in place to maximize service
delivery..
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a well-maintained fleet
- Manage and provide effective leadership to the existing team
- Develop a clear staff training program for the department and ensure
that knowledge is tested several times per year as per laid down
procedures. - Manage, Audit and maintain compliance at all levels
- Ensure that all business recovery/contingency plans held within the
company are always kept up to date
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and
Automotive Engineering. - A post graduate diploma in vehicle maintenance and management is an
added advantage - At least eight years’ working experience
- Substantial vehicle & motorcycle management experience gained
through working in a large and busy organization - Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building
strong trusted base relationship with colleagues and stakeholders at all
levels. ‘ - A sound working knowledge of mechanical and automotive engineering
- Good knowledge of government legislation in regard to fleet
management - Experience in developing working administrative systems for a
department - Building a strong security management system
- Experienced negotiator
- Experienced at preparing and managing budgets
- Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent
communication, influencing, negotiating, numerical and documentation and
engagement skills - Sound judgment and decision making with a hands on problem solving
approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of
incidents. - Ability to organize a demanding workload and work within tight
deadlines - Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business
cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in
staffing levels. - Attributes:
