Sciences Program is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery
organization. It strives to improve the quality of life of the local population
through a combination of community based research, curative services and
prevention strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is
based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute – Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai
District.

Job Summary:  The DREAMS Regional Coordinator will support
the Regional Coordination Function of the DREAMS program in the region as
guided by PEPFAR. The DREAMS Regional Coordinator will work with the DREAMS
Regional Manager to ensure that overall implementation of the DREAMS program in
the region is efficiently executed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Tasked with monitoring DREAMS field activities in the region.
  • Provide technical guidance to the district DREAMS coordinators and
    the whole team.
  • Review all district DREAMS budgets, work-plans and accountabilities.
  • Work with district administrative structures to ensure smooth
    running of DREAMS activities in the region
  • Prepare district sub-grants
  • Review progress reports per DREAMS district
  • Monitor DREAMS performance and reporting in UDTS, HIBRID and DHIS2
  • Draft and prepare the DREAMS regional implementation plan as guided
    by the respective SOPs
  • Work in liaison with the Regional Manager, prepare CBO sub-grants
    and contracts
  • Monitors daily reporting of district DREAMS activities via Slack.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP)
    DREAMS Regional Coordinator job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social
    Sciences, or Related humanities field
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or Health Services Research
  • Experience with DREAMS programming is an added advantage
  • Experience working with PEPFAR and district reporting systems like
    DHIS2, OVCMIS, and HIBRID is an advantage
  • Experience working with the Uganda DREAMS Tracking System (UDTS) is
    an added advantage
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a rural and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
