Uganda Wildlife
Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism,
Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in
accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200. The Mission of UWA is: “To Conserve
and Sustainably Manage the Wildlife and Protected Areas of Uganda in
Partnership with Neighboring Communities and Other Stakeholders for the Benefit
of the People of Uganda and the Global Community.”
Job Summary: The Warden Public Relations will provide
support in the implementation of Communication and Public Relations Policy to
enhance the corporate image and credibility of UWA
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Communications Manager to manage all UWA Social Media
platforms and ensure that they are kept up to – date with information. - Provide interactive platforms and handle all online information
requests and queries. - Work with Communications Manager to ensure coverage of all events.
- Initiate and design periodic and regular publications (flyers,
newsletters, banners and other graphic information) for disseminating
information to the public. - Identify various technologies that could be adopted to improve
information dissemination to all stakeholders (internal and external). - Handle any customer inquiries and complaints concerning online
content. - Monitor Search Engine Optimization(SEO) and user engagement and
suggest content optimization. - Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social
media to create a strong network. - Assist in the attainment of organization social media targets.
- Initiate and implement social media campaigns.
- Prepare quarterly work plans, performance and other reports.
- Perform any other official duties as maybe assigned by the
Supervisor and/or management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Warden
Public Relations career opportunity must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree
in either; Public Relations, Journalism, Mass communication, English and
Creative Writing or Social Sciences with Literature in English as one of
the subjects from a reputable University or Institution. - A minimum of three years of relevant working experience, one (1) of
which should have been in electronic and social medial management from a
reputable organization. - Strong website and social media management skills
- Crisis management skills
- Strong publishing skills and communication skills
- High level of creativity
- Ability to generate content
- Self – driven with exceptional team player
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask.

40 years
