Job Summary: The Programme Specialist – Family Planning
will be responsible for leading the Family Planning Programme at UNFPA Uganda Country
Office, reporting directly to the Head of the Integrated Sexual and
Reproductive Health and Rights (ISRHR) team/Assistant Representative.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations UNFPA Programme
Specialist Family Planning job opportunity should hold an advanced degree
in Public health, health policy population, development, and/or other
related field. - A minimum of five years of experience in SRH/FP programming.
- Experience working with the Ministry of Health and Local Government
(districts) is desirable. - Excellent computer/information systems skills.
- Understanding of the UN system in general, and especially UNFPA’s
mandate, policies, operations and development topics within the Ugandan
setting is an added advantage. - Languages: Fluency
in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French
and/or Spanish, is desirable.
