behalf of its valued client, a leading commercial bank operating in Uganda.

Job Summary:   The Senior Manager- Risk Management will
support the Head of Risk Management to enhance and integrate the function for
Bank-wide Risk Management, to build capacity and the ability to identify,
measure, monitor and control the underlying risks – mainly Strategic, Credit,
Liquidity, Interest Rate, Price, Foreign Exchange Rate, Operational,
Reputational and Regulatory – that the Group will continue to face.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

                    
Establish
comprehensive Risk Management Programs and to embed sound risk management
programme by putting in place an effective 
Country Risk Management framework through;

                    
Active
Senior Management oversight.

                    
Adequate
Policies Procedures and Limits

                    
Adequate
Risk Monitoring and Management Information Systems (MIS)

                    
Adequate
Internal Controls

                    
To
establish a comprehensive and sound Risk Management culture

                    
To
participate in the formulation and review of of bank wide policies and
procedures

                    
To
monitor the prevailing trend and quality of the credit portfolio through
various management report such as Arrears and NPA Accounts Reports,

                    
Tasked
with monitoring of credit risk so as to ascertain the overall health of each
asset and overall portfolio and confirm that exposures are in line with the
bank’s policy guidelines so as to ensure the quality of the  credit portfolio

                    
Ensure
that the process of disbursement and custody of security documentation is in
line with Policies and procedures and compliant with the Credit disbursement
checklist.

                    
Identify
Market risk factors (equity, interest rate, currency, and commodity) and
develop approaches of strategies to address them.

                    
Monitoring
of the ALM risks and review of the Liquidity Ratio, Rate sensitivity gaps,
currency-wise gap analysis, net margins, Value at Risk (VaR), trading
activities and impact analysis in a worst case scenario to test the Bank’s
resilience

                    
Perform
any other duties assigned by management from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

                    
The
ideal candidate must hold a University graduate with an honours Bachelor’s
Degree in Business plus professional qualification in Risk Management or
similar field would be desirable.

                    
Possession
of good analytical skills

                    
Excellent
knowledge of Microsoft Office application.

                    
At least
eight years of banking experience, with at least 3 years at a managerial level

                    
Demonstrated
leadership skills with good command of oral and written knowledge of English.
