communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the
operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Job Summary: The Officer Social Media Monitoring will
mainly monitor different social media platforms with the aim of delivering
insights and providing incisive actionable reports. This role further requires
one to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase
web traffic, increase awareness on different topics of interest.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement social media strategies and tactics for
various social media platforms - Oversee development, management and implementation social media
content calendars and posting schedules - Develop key metrics and compile data across several social media
platforms to create weekly/monthly reports that allow visibility into
overall channel performance. Include analysis, insights and
recommendations for future action - Create development plans for social media content; recommending
content types based on audience needs, and identify content gap - Stay on top of current events and social trends, and how these
affect the Commission - Develop and implement a social media listening program to gauge
overall sentiment for different topics of interest - Employ a variety of research techniques to understand and analyse
online data and provide insight about relevant online conversations and
accounts - Monitor social media channels and messaging of interest. Provide
monthly/quarterly update - Monitor latest trends in social media, including channels,
technologies - Conduct online media, influencer & partnership outreach, and
identify opportunities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Officer
Social Media Monitoring job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science or related Information Technology, Information Security, or
Computing, Communication fields; - Two to three years of professional experience in marketing/business
analytics, statistical analysis, predictive modelling or segmentation
experience setting - Two years of recent experience in directly developing and
implementing successful social media strategies, initiatives and tactics. - Good understanding of Social advertising campaign management and
optimization practices across the biggies, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter,
and Instagram - Experience with social scheduling and analysis
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand business/technical
requirements for analysis/reporting purposes, interpret data and make
actionable business recommendations - Displays organizational capabilities to track progress, execution
and consistency of social advertising campaigns - Highly organized with ability to manage time, priorities and
multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong partnership and collaboration skills; must have experience
influencing cross-functional leaders at varying levels of the
organization. - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
