About US:

The Office of the
Auditor General (OAG) is an institution established under the provisions of
Article 163 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda. Its mandate,
functions and powers are enshrined in the National Audit Act, 2008. The main
function of the OAG is to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and
all Public offices or bodies and/or organization established by an Act of
Parliament.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Reviewing the adequacy, completeness, reliability of the system for
  generating data, information, financial statements and related notes and
  schedules.
• Conducting systems audit to ascertain whether or not internal
  controls are appropriate to the entity, and whether or not they are
  operating effectively and efficiently.
• Conducting value for money reviews on key activities of OAG to
  ascertain whether or not value has been obtained (efficiency,
  effectiveness and economy).
• Conducting risk management reviews to ascertain whether or not
  management has set procedures for risk identification and management
  including frauds.
• Conducting periodic reviews to confirm whether or not set policies
  and specific applicable instructions are followed, and confirm whether or
  not management is complying with all applicable legislations.
• Reviewing management arrangements for ensuring that objectives of
  OAG are being achieved.
• Conducting reviews on various projects implemented by OAG and report
  on project management, implementation, and conduct post implementation
  reviews.
• Conducting reviews on resource acquisition, deployment &
  utilization, disposal and ascertain whether the arrangements for safe
  custody of assets are appropriate and adequate.
• Conducting special audits and investigations as may be requested by
  management.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The Internal Auditor should be a Ugandan who possesses an Honours
  Bachelor’s Degree in EITHER Business Administration (Accounting option),
  Commerce (Accounting option), and any other Bachelor ‘s Degree majoring in
  Accounting/Auditing OR Professional Qualifications like ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA
  or CPA.
• Age: Below 30
  years
