founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently
serves as an urban community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo
Hospital provides comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics,
dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides
critical training and education to health professionals through its various
programs in midwifery and nursing, health sciences, and laboratory technology.
Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated research and development team that works to
find new solutions to health issues in Uganda.

Job Summary:  The Internal Audit Officer will carry out
follow-up audits on recommendations for all audit observations raised as per
Management’s agreed upon action.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out risk-based audits on key business process and projects as
    per annual audit plans, in order to provide assurance on the quality,
    efficiency and effectiveness of systems.
  • Monitor risks and compliance exposures and follow up implementation
    of risk mitigation measures
  • Obtain data from source systems and reports, analyze it and assess
    potential risk for the organization in view of systems, procedures and
    processes
  • Carry out special audit assignments as may be required such as
    ad-hoc investigations due diligence assessments and spot checks
  • Support in coordinating the risk assessment process
  • Tasked with the verification of receipt of items in store.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant for the Internal Audit Officer job must hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration-Accounting or any
    other related field and /or ACCA/CPA Level 3.
  • At least three years of audit experience is an added advantage.
  • Firm grasp of Accounting Standards
  • Demonstrated and good report writing skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge in MS Office packages
  • Data Manipulation skills
