About US:
Uganda National
Cultural Centre (UNCC) is a semi-autonomous body established by an Act of
Parliament (UNCC Act Cap 50). It is mandated to preserve, promote and
popularize Art and Culture in Uganda and beyond.
Job Summary: The
ICT Officer will primarily manage the network and the IT infrastructure .
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Provides
support in the planning design, documentation and implementation of various ICT
systems.
·
Develops,
maintains, and monitors procedures for all server backups
·
Monitors,
plans and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service
packs.
·
Perform
on—site and remote technical support and documentation
·
Provide
network and desktop support to all staff at UNCC
·
Designs
install upgrades, configure and repairs local and wide area network hardware
and infrastructure.
·
Installs
and tests computers and related network hardware in a LAN/WAN environment
·
Oversee network
and server configuration maintenance and management
·
Overseeing
computer security and anti—virus updates etc.
·
Keeping
website updated
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or
information Communication Technology from a recognized University/institution
Plus
·
A
Certification in CCNA or Microsoft on Server Management.
·
At least
five years of experience in LANs and Wide Area Networks (WAN), Server
Management, Cloud Computing
·
Strong Networking
and Communications skills
·
Computer
literacy skills
·
Must be
team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills
·
Good
analytical skills.
·
Knowledge
of internetworking tools more especially an understanding of the TCP/IP
protocol
