The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of developing a modern
communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the
operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Job Summary: The Officer CERT will provide support in the
execution, assessment &
monitoring tasks in relation to CERT
operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the CERT Uganda Help Desk and raise tickets for all confirmed
probable incidents; - Conduct risk assessment and security analysis on the reported
incidents; - Respond and provide support to the CERT Uganda Constituents;
- Produce periodic or ad hoc reports of high quality for incidents,
security threats and vulnerabilities; - Develop training modules and technical documentation;
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions among other technical personnel
on lessons learned and new findings; and - Ensure compliance with all CERT UG’s policies, procedures, and
guidelines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Officer
CERT job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ ICT/
Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer) or a related
field; and - Professional certification in any related field such as ICT
security, CISSP/ GCIA/ GCFA/ CEH/ CISA/ CISM is an added advantage; - Two (2) years of working experience in Information security or
relevant field in a similar corporate setting - Information Management
- Cyber Forensics
- Extensive knowledge of Computer hardware, Internet applications,
cryptographic technologies, security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities,
and risk assessments - Knowledge of Computer hardware, Internet applications, cryptographic
technologies, - Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems
