Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (AIPR) is a non-profit organization
devoted to genocide and mass atrocity prevention. The institute is best known
for its Raphael Lemkin Seminar for Genocide Prevention held annually at the
Auschwitz concentration camp, and for serving as the technical secretariat of
the Latin American Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention. AIPR is
an NGO that provides technical assistance and training to governments,
emphasizing a long term approach to genocide prevention.

Job Summary:  The Finance Officer will be the primary person
responsible for all aspects of AIPR Africa Programs accounting, including
bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, as well
as organization—wide financial reporting..

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related
    field (Certified copy), A Master’s Degree in the field of Accounting or
    related field is desired
  • At least seven years of previous experience performing similar tasks 
  • Mastery of QuickBooks and Tally Online accounting and reporting
    systems
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel 
  • Experience working with cash based accounting 
  • Previous experience with nonprofit organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
