About US:
AVSI Foundation is
an international not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in
Italy in 1972. Its mission is to promote the dignity of the person through
development cooperation activities, with special attention to education,
according to the social teaching of the Catholic Church. AVSI has been present
in Uganda since 1984, first supporting hospitals and agriculture projects in
Gulu and Kitgum districts, and later expanding around 1990 to establish the
present-day headquarters in Kampala, offices in Pader, Gulu and Kitgum, and
project activities in 12 other districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Make sure program activities are implemented following the project
    work-plan
  • Prepare the project financial plan and monitor program expenditures
  • Prepare period narrative reports according to donor’s guidelines and
    support AVSI Administration in the preparation of the financial reports
  • Coordinate the project staff and provide guidance and supevision
  • Provide guidance in the program strategy in coordination with the
    AVSI Energy Focal person
  • Provide project feedbacks to the donor through periodic meetings and
    reports
  • Identify opportunities for new energy programs, and write project
    proposals under the supervision of the Energy Focal Point
  • Network with the relevant rural electrification stakeholders in
    Uganda
  • Any Other Duties identified by the Country Representative or the
    Energy Focal Point



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a University degree, preferable in Business Administration
  • Three years of professional experience in program management in programs
    promoting micro-small and medium enterprises in sub-saharan Africa and/or
    energy access programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently, as well
    as in a team
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and
    Power Point)
