About Programme:

The High Flyers
programme (2019-2021) is a programme implemented by ICCO Cooperation as a
member of Youth Business International. The programme targets 1,000 young
entrepreneurs with an existing agribusiness in Nebbi district or Lango region.
ICCO will support them with business development trainings, financial linkage
support and long-term mentorship. This will enable the agripreneurs to
strengthen and boost their business, and to create new jobs.

The Programme
Coordinator is responsible for effective implementation of this programme and
will also support the Civic Engagement Alliance (CEA) programme in Uganda
through implementation of lobby and advocacy activities within the High Flyers
programme. The CEA program has a clear lobby trajectory in which lobby issues
are identified and discussed between rights holders and duty bearers at
different government administrative structures. The program facilitates
community dialogues at the community level and sub county, District, Regional
and National dialogues. It is implemented through three pathways of change that
seek to enhance the capacity of local farmers to access market and quality
seeds.

Job Summary:  The  Programme Coordinator High Flyers
will ensure that the programme is delivered effectively and efficiently in line
with ICCO’s vision and mission, while linking the High Flyers programme with
the Civic Engagement Alliance (CEA) programme of ICCO in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

                    
Responsible
for the overall programme implementation.

                    
Coordinate
the activities through regular meetings with staff and consultants, field
visits, development and monitoring of workplan and budget.

                    
Support
in the development and implementation of mobilization activities, the business
acceleration training methodologies, the mentorship programme and financial
networks and pitching sessions.

                    
Develop
and maintain working relationships with all relevant stakeholders including the
local and district government, financial service providers and private sector.

                    
Represent
High Flyers and ICCO in relevant fora.

                    
Set up
and ensure coordination of monitoring, evaluation and learning and
accountability structures and document best practices.

                    
Ensure
proper financial management of the program, in collaboration with the the
Kampala-based Finance Officer.

                    
Facilitate
program reviews and monitoring.

                    
Prepare
and submit monthly work plans, monthly narrative and financial reports and
liquidity requests to the Country Manager.

                    
Support
the Country Manager in the development of narrative and financial plans and
reports to the donor.

                    
Ensure
that All Solutions and Promeva (ICCO Cooperation databases) are up to date
concerning High Flyers project.

                    
Advise
on lobby and advocacy activities within the programme and ensure effective
implementation of the CEA activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

                    
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant field,
for example in agri-business development, business administration or
development studies.

                    
Five years
of experience in project management or coordination with an international
organization and in the fields of agriculture and business development.

                    
Three years
of experience in lobby and advocacy activities.

                    
Good
knowledge of project partnership management.

                    
Familiarity
with donor programs.
