regulated by Bank of Uganda and serving a mass market with a multi-channel
delivery strategy.
Job Summary:  The Managing Director will be responsible for
the development and implementation of the bank’s strategy towards profitable
growth and operation of the bank as guided by the Board. She/he will also be
expected to provide insights and direction in the implementation of projects,
whilst ensuring growth of business and increased return on assets. The
jobholder will also oversee the execution of management and financial
accounting roles and ensure that ICT is leveraged to support operational
effectiveness. She/he will implement Board decisions and will oversee corporate
planning, budgeting, effective implementation of policy decisions at both
strategic and operational levels, compliance and risk management, promotion of
corporate governance, establishment of a performance driven culture and ensure
improvement in quality and value of the bank’s products and services..



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in
    Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration
    or Management from a reputable institution;
  • Membership to a professional body such as IBFS, ACCA, ICPAU, ICPAK,
    IFS, CFA Institute is preferred;
  • At least 15 years’ work experience in the commercial banking or
    financial services industry, 5 of which must be at EXCO level;
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in working with government,
    donors and private sector players as strategic business partners or
    stakeholders;
  • Should demonstrate financial management responsibility and
    accountability competencies and good understanding of corporate
    governance, investment management and optimization.
  • Have an established track record and reputation of outstanding
    performance.
  • The applicant must be a Ugandan national between 40 and 55 years of
    age;
