Job Summary:  The Head Executive Banking will customise the
Executive Banking customer value proposition in alignment with the Group
defined CVP framework. The incumbent will manage the Executive Banking
portfolio, including oversight of the income statement and balance sheet
targets. The jobholder will also guide and influence the sales and distribution
channels to deliver the set targets for this segment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

CVP development and
portfolio management

                    
Customises
the Executive Banking customer value proposition (CVP) as per group defined CVP
framework, for approval by relevant stakeholders.

                    
Manages
the overall portfolio performance for Executive Banking. This includes

                    
Interest
Income: Driving the correct product mix in order to ensure that budgeted
margins and revenues are attained.

                    
Non-Interest
Income: Driving transactional activity in order to achieve set revenue targets under
each of the non-interest revenue lines namely service fee, foreign exchange
income, facility fee, insurance, digital and card fees.

                    
Balance
Sheet: Ensures the delivery of budgeted products, paying particular attention
to the product mix for both asset and liability products.

                    
Deploys
growth, revenue maximisation, and cost optimisation initiatives to drive
product and portfolio profitability.

                    
Consolidates
reporting and feedback on portfolio performance and develops any mitigation
actions in conjunction with branches where required. Prepares appropriate
recommendations where relevant, for approval by line manager.

Customer Service
Management

                    
Ensures
that customer service principles as set out for Executive Banking are
implemented and adhered to by branches.

                    
Effectively
handles and resolves escalated queries / complaints and maintains a high
standard of service delivery for effective customer retention and portfolio
profitability.

                    
Ensures
that customer complaints are monitored, trends and root causes identified and
addressed at source to prevent recurrence.

                    
Anticipates
and meets customer needs through provision of the right products and services
in order to enable execution by the Executive Banking team in branches

                    
Ensures
that opportunities to migrate customers to more appropriate, cost-effective
channels are identified and actioned.

                    
Drives
implementation of efficient, customer- focused telephone etiquette and
behaviour across the branches.

Sales management

                    
Ensures
that the approved Executive Banking CVP is clearly communicated to all
stakeholders and that through effective implementation; clients receive an
efficient and holistically superior service offering.

                    
Influences
the behaviour of Executive Bankers and branch service teams by communicating
minimum standards and sales objectives in order to acquire new qualifying
clients, add value to existing clients and increase revenue through cross
selling and increased share of wallet.

                    
Networks
with all segments, product, distribution channels and departmental structures
to leverage and identify business opportunities.

                    
Develops
micro marketing sales plans to achieve respective sales budgets/targets for the
team.

                    
Keeps
abreast of changes and developments in the local market/area and continuously
realigns the business to fit in by developing and implementing appropriate
tactical measures.

                    
Manages
the sales tracking system including leads and provides coaching and feedback to
the team.

                    
Provides
Branch Managers with weekly and monthly updates of the team’s performance and
all sales plans/tactics in place to achieve the set targets.

                    
Coaches
the sales team on product knowledge and on how to make the most of
cross-selling opportunities.

                    
Develops
incentive campaigns in order to attain the sales targets.

                    
Reviews
lending applications forwarded by the Executive Banking teams in branches, for
further input (where relevant) prior to submission to Credit for approval. This
includes making pricing decisions within delegation of authority.

People management

                    
Visibly
supports the branch network in achieving the Executive Banking sales targets
and standards of service by providing consistent encouragement and guidance to
the team.

                    
Co-ordinates
reporting and information flow for Executive Banking and make sure that reports
are delivered within given deadlines and relevant information is shared
appropriately with the teams.

                    
Manages
the upward escalation process within the teams to ensure that all matters
requiring support are given urgent attention.

                    
Effectively
manages staff through development and performance management.

                    
Mentors
and coaches staff to constantly ensure that the environment is conducive to the
retention of high performance staff and the attraction of new staff.

                    
Provides
an environment which attracts and develops the right calibre of staff ensuring
that the segment becomes an employer of choice for external, as well as
internal, potential candidates.

                    
Ensures
the implementation of the leadership promise and employee engagement programme.

Risk management

                    
Ensures
that overdrawn, dormant accounts or loans in arrears are managed daily by
encouraging constant engagement (and where relevant dealing directly) with the
affected customers.

                    
Identifies
and minimises operational risks.

                    
Provides
input into the lending processes and criteria by preparing appropriate
recommendations.

                    
Promotes
a culture of risk compliance across the Executive Banking teams through regular
communication and workshops.

                    
Drives
credit upskilling (mostly for intuitive lending) across Executive Banking teams
by implementing training programmes with input from relevant stakeholders.

                    
Ensures
effective compliance with agreed limits of authority and levels of access to
systems and information.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

                    
The
applicant for the Stanbic Bank Head Executive Banking job must hold a
Bachelor’s Degree

                    
Business
Commerce

                    
Post
Graduate Diploma will be an added advantage

                    
At least
four years of banking experience.

                    
Good
analytical skills.

                    
Current
knowledge and understanding of different industry sectors and sector risk
profiles/trends.

                    
A
thorough understanding of business and financial management principles.

                    
A
thorough knowledge of multi-level products and pricing structures available to
Executive Banking customers.

                    
Knowledge
of competitor product offerings/channels/operational and marketing tactics.

                    
Strong
negotiation and conflict management skills to create a co-operative and
collaborative working environment.

                    
Operational
effectiveness

                    
Responsible
for the net profitability of the team.

                    
Optimise
and streamline existing systems, processes and controls for cost-effective
service delivery.

                    
Provide
an effective administrative function for the team.

                    
Ensure
overall staff complement is in line with productivity measurements and that the
