Uganda (A2N) is a local Non-Governmental organization that was conceived in
1986 at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Special Session on the
Critical economic Situation in Africa. Later in 1990, the idea developed into a
United Nations Development Program that was implemented in 13 African Countries
supporting community based projects aimed at environmental protection and
promotion of ecologically sustainable development for improved livelihoods.
mainly design, review and implement comprehensive M&E management system and
guidelines for measuring and tracking project performance, as well as managing
the project database..
- Make a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning plan (MEL plan), and
coordinate its implementation - Develop M&E tools, both qualitative and quantitative to create
project feedback and output - Coordinate and supervise impact assessment studies by the project,
based on sound survey methods - Manage the project’s database where data from all researchers is
stored - Produce reporting / M&E schedules for project staff and
participating farmers /groups - Prepare reports and documentation of outcomes, outputs, experiences,
and key lessons learned - Provide input (highlights, lessons learned, etc.) for policy briefs
- The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s degree related to Rural
Development / Agronomy with focus on M&E or impact Assessment - A minimum of two years’ experience in outcome mapping or similar
kind of M&E approaches - Excellent communication and report writing skills in English
- Knowledge in the application of qualitative and quantitative M&E
methods in similar settings - Practical knowledge of common statistical analysis and database
management packages - Demonstrable skills and competences of working with diverse multidisciplinary
teams - High integrity, honesty and intrinsic motivation for sustainable
rural development in Uganda - Ability to provide capacity building training to project staff,
partners, and farmers in M&E - Aerial data collection experience, as well as management and
utilization - Experience in evaluating sustainable development impact
- Video and photography skills and competences
- Experience in interdisciplinary development projects, preferably
also with international staff - Able to speak Lugisu
