Job Summary:  The Marketing and Communications Officer will
directly contribute to growing British Council Uganda’s operation, building
positive perceptions of the UK and the British Council as a leading global
cultural relations organisation. The job holder will support implementation of
the marketing and communications strategy across a range of media channels
(including social media), telling a compelling story of our offer and the
impact of our work across the programme portfolio, raising the profile and
strengthening brand visibility to existing and new audiences in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

                    
The
Marketing and Communications role works closely with all programme teams to
deliver the British Council’s marketing and communications strategy.

                    
Organising
digital campaigns, internal digital platform with content as well as content
creation. Also, Maintenance and update digital platforms

                    
Support
art works for Countries within the East Africa cluster, thereby gaining
experience working with multiple teams with unique content based in different
areas.

                    
Job
shadowing opportunity with the UK team, career development and chance to
network with policy networks and Senior management.

                    
Significantly
increase the reach and impact of our programmes in education, skills and arts
through the innovative use of digital and other media channels.

                    
Working
with portfolio leads, commission and deliver insightful research into the needs
of our primary audience sub segments.

                    
Support
creative partnerships with media agencies across Kenya to amplify the reach pf
our work.

                    
Support
the successful delivery of face to face events through live streaming and
digital wrap around.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

                    
The
applicant for the British Council Marketing and Communications Officer job
should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

                    
Proven
experience in marketing, communications and brand development/management

                    
Proactive
and demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision

                    
Experience
in assisting the running and managing successful digital campaigns

                    
Experience
in providing professional input on key campaign on digital platforms

                    
Highly
organised and deadline oriented

                    
High
level of accuracy and attention to detail.

                    
Proficiency
Level in English
