FIG Consult Limited
is a leading Human Resource Consultancy. They are recruiting on behalf of a
valuable client, a company based in Namanve with a fleet of over 50 trucks.
Job Summary: The Fleet Officer will be responsible for
managing a fleet of delivery trucks for our client, maintaining detailed
records of vehicles and scheduling the drivers to transport goods in a proper
and timely manner that will ensure operational efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•
Tasked with
developing efficient driver schedules to maximize profits.
•
Managing
50 drivers so they adhere to strict schedules.
•
Registering
and licensing all vehicles under their management.
•
The Fleet
officer will also collect all invoices from the drivers upon return and
reconcile with management
•
Tracking
driver routes to ensure all goods are delivered by the trucks in time
•
Finding
ways to cut costs and maximize profits.
•
Developing
strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
•
Maintaining
detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
•
Ensure all
drivers comply with the Uganda Transport laws and regulations.
•
Tasked with
scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
•
Ensuring
strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain
schedules.
•
Monitoring
driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
•
Analyzing
data to increase business operational efficiency.
•
Utilizing
systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
•
The ideal
candidate must hold a Degree in Logistics or Accounting.
•
Two years
of experience in a fleet management role.
•
Records management
skills and experience
•
Experience
in managing a fleet of drivers is desirable
•
Experience
in the transportation industry i.e. a logistics company is desire
•
Outstanding
organizational skills.
•
Basic
book keeping skills
•
Analytical
mindset and good problem-solving skills.
•
Quantitative
ability.
•
Time
management skills
•
Attention
to detail.
•
Exceptional
interpersonal skills.
•
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
•
Fluency
in English and Luganda
•
Good computer
skills is an added advantage
