Director
Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of
Education and Sports. It is responsible for inter-alia development of curricula
and related materials for various levels of education (i.e. Pre-Primary,
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organizing capacity building courses for
stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum.
and technical support to the Management team on proper financial management and
accountability for the financial resources of the Centre in accordance with the
Financial Regulations & Guidelines of the Centre and laws of Uganda.
- Supervise and control the Finance Department.
- Be responsible for compiling the annual estimates of revenue and
expenditure of the Centre upon receipt of submissions from the
Departments. - Maintain the budgetary control of the Centre by ensuring that funds
are spent in accordance with the approved budget. - Ensure that all accounts and stores are properly maintained and that
no unauthorized or over payments are made. - Be required to produce quarterly budget accounts showing the
expenditure for that period so that appropriate action can be taken
especially where additional funds are required. - Prepare and produce final accounts and other periodic accounts of
the Centre as per the Public Finance Management Act. - Ensure that all goods are properly received and issued in accordance
to the laid down procedures. - Keep books of all income and expenditure and proper records in
conformity with the acceptable standards. - Coordinate the external Audit process.
- Assist in resource mobilization for the Centre.
- Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.
- Periodic Quarterly Accounts and Annual Final Accounts prepared and
submitted to the Accountant General & Auditor General respectively. - Revenue collected and banked.
- Financial accounting documents securely stored and maintained.
- Annual budget estimates prepared and approved by the Governing
Council. - Quarterly Budget Performance Reports prepared and submitted to the Governing
Council.
- The ideal candidate must hold an Honors Bachelor’s degree with
Accounting or Finance option from a recognized Institution of higher
learning. - Must have an internationally recognized full professional Accounting
qualification. - Must possess a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or
Management Studies from a recognized institution of higher learning - Must be a registered member of ICPA (U)..
- A minimum of ten years’ working experience in Accounting preferably
in a public institution, three (3) of which must have been gained at
Senior Accountant level. - Wide knowledge of the current public accounting systems and
practices. - Well-developed interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Ability to train and motivate staff under his/her supervision.
- Proficiency in computer packages.
- Must be industrious and self-driven.
- Excellent track record of integrity
- Age Limit: Between
35 to 56 years
