Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
                    
Responsible for leading the business development
process for specification opportunities in Uganda.
                    
Identify new business opportunities  including new markets, growth areas, trends,
customers, products and services.
                    
Contribute to the development and production of
proposals under the supervision of a proposal development manager, ensuring
that proposals meet funder specifications and deadlines as well as Pathfinder’s
quality standards. This may include researching and creating drafts for
proposal sections, assisting with development of standard proposal annexes such
as past performance and staffing information, conducting research for upcoming
anticipated, opportunities, and other required proposal development tasks.
                    
Coordination of Country Office in development
sub-processes for smaller proposal development including recruitment and
liaising with partners and consultants.
                    
Support development of technical leads, senior
leadership, and business development staff; conduct research, initiate contact
with relevant institutions, and prepare schedules and talking points.
                    
Develop informational and communications
materials about Pathfinder International projects and work for sharing with
donors, partners, and other external audiences.
                    
Monitor and share information from external
sources of news, including political and security information critical to the
organization’s mission or programs
                    
Maintain accurate information about business
development opportunities in internal databases; assist with analysis of
business development data; and prepare relevant business development reports
for Pathfinder’s senior leadership and country teams.
                    
Monitor, research, and share information about
new opportunities, donor funding trends, and relevant country information from
external sources of news.
                    
Support administrative and knowledge management
functions of the Opportunity Development team.
                    
Represent Pathfinder International at different
fora interactively to promote Pathfinder International Uganda image and
reputation.
                    
Liaise with HQ staff, field teams and
prospective partners to coordinate technical input for funding proposals.
                    
Perform any other duties as assigned.



Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
                    
The ideal candidate must hold a University
degree in Business Management, Development, Communications, Media Studies,
Public and/International Relations, Social Sciences or related field; from a
recognized University.
                    
A Master’s degree in Communications or Knowledge
Management will be an added advantage
                    
Five years of field-based professional experience
in communications preferably in developing integrated health program activities
including supervising integrated HIV/FP/RH/ASRH trainings and activities.
                    
Experience in proposal development including
support and writing for various donors, particularly US Government, European
Union, UN agencies, private foundations and corporations.
                    
Knowledge of International businesses’
opportunities and services and be able to advise staff, clients, MoH,
Communities and other stakeholders about them.
                    
Excellent oral/written communication skills and
ability to communicate to both expert and lay audiences.
                    
Willingness to travel extensively within Uganda,
work extended periods in the field and interact effectively with local
communities and willingness to learn new approaches.
                    
Knowledge in data collection and analysis to
yield project reports.
                    
Ability to work with various stakeholders
including donors and local Government and partners.
                    
Good analytical, interpersonal and communication
skills.
                    
High level conceptual and strategic thinking as
well as writing and editing skills.
                    
Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access,
Power-Point and applications and use of internet for research purposes.
                    
Cross-cultural experience, understanding and
sensitivity
                    
Familiarity with international indicators and
standard measurement tools in health/family planning, MNCH, HIV/AIDS and other
relevant technical areas with analytical and problem-solving expertise.
                    
Identify public and private (for profit/not for
profit) partners that map against Pathfinder International Strategy and
establish relationships for prepositioning in addition to having formal
agreements with partners.
                    
Demonstrated experience working with community
resource teams such as CSAs, support groups of PLHIV, VHTs and community
leaders and District Management and Administration teams,
                    
Experience in collection and use of data to
inform decision-making, planning, and performance monitoring.
                    
Experience in working with various stakeholders
including donors and local government agencies and partners.
                    
Familiar with USAID reporting, fluency in both
written and spoken English and any local language.
