About US:

Naguru Teenage
Information and Health Centre (NTIHC) is the pioneer program in providing youth
friendly Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) services in Uganda.
Established in 1994, NTIHC is a pioneer adolescent health program in Uganda
positioned to provide Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
(ASRHR) services, youth activities and information, primarily targeting young
people of 10 -24 years old. NTIHC, with an officeand youth clinic at Kiswa
Health Centre, supports 7 KCCA health facilities in Kampala and other 24 Public
health facilities in 8 districts neighbouring Kampala to provide quality ASRHR
services.

Job Summary:  The Assistant Project Officer will regularly
provide support to the Advocacy and Research department. She/He shall also provide
assistance in Administration as well as Service Delivery department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

                    
Coordinate
and supervise activities of intern students in liaison with Advocacy and
Research Manager and other heads of departments.

                    
Participate
in mentoring and educating of volunteers and interns in the provision of youth
friendly services.

                    
Administratively
manage the arrangement of training activities including logistics such as
booking venues arranging the catering, stationery and accommodation if
necessary, production and submission of activity reports the supervisor
manager.

                    
Participate
in other activities like clients registration, counselling, health discussions
with young people and toll free counselling.

                    
Support
in the documentation and subscribing of meeting minutes as may be requested

                    
Support
in the maintenance of office equipment and supplies, ensuring that machines are
regularly serviced and maintained in good running condition and the necessary
supplies do not run out.

                    
Support
in organising internal activities such as meetings, functions and attending to
visitors.

                    
Manage
the receiving, filing forwarding and dispatching of mails and newspapers and
maintain an up to date office filing system for incoming and outgoing mails.

                    
Manage
the organisational fleet and transport services

                    
Assist
in office errands as may be assigned.

                    
Maintenance
of NTIHC fixed assets register.

                    
Perform
any other lawful duties and responsibilities as assigned to him /her by the
supervisor and or other superiors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

                    
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social
Administration or BBA or Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences); from a recognized
Institution.

                    
Post
graduate training in office administration will be an added advantage.

                    
Any
additional qualification in any of the following fields is an added advantage;
finance and Accounts, Human Resource, procurement, and other related field.

                    
At least
three years of relevant working experience in a similar organisation in a
similar or same position is an added advantage.

                    
Strength
of personal values and character

                    
High
level of moral character and integrity; dynamic, flexible.

                    
Self-motivation,
hard work orientation and good team skills.

                    
Knowledge
of IT is essential

                    
Age: Preferably
between 25 – 30 years old at the time of application.
