Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water sector in
Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.” NWSC is a
utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was established
in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as defined in the
National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section 5 (1), is to
operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted to it, on a
sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were initially in three
towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.

Job Summary: The Surveyor will ensure correct, accurate and
timely surveys and updates in respect to NWSC Assets and GIS database to
support planning and decision-making..

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all survey operations are effectively executed.
- Ensure maps are updated in all NWSC towns.
- Survey Corporation land and follow up processing of land titles.
- Carry out digital update of maps.
- Analyze new connection survey information from NWSC Areas for
suitability, accuracy and completeness in capture. - Train Survey Assistants and direct their work in such activities as
performing surveys or producing maps. - Ensure that staff in NWSC towns are trained in basic survey
operations. - Performs any other job assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the National Water and Sewerage Corporation
Surveyor jobs should hold a Bachelor’s’ Degree in Surveying or
Geographical Information Systems from a recognized Institution. - Strong Professional Skills
- Membership with relevant professional bodies in an added advantage
- A minimum of one (01) year of post – qualification experience in any
recognized company. - Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and any
other design software application. - Demonstrable ability to handle high-end surveying equipment
- Membership with professional bodies is an added advantage
- Possesses a high level of initiative, commitment to work, ability to
meet tight deadlines, excellent communication and inter personal skills - Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Be good team player, highly motivated and capable of working with
minimum supervision - An understanding of NWSC’s practices, water & sewerage network
is vital - Ability to work for long hours under minimum supervision
- Be willing to work in any designated NWSC operational Area in Uganda
- Should not have any criminal record
- Age: Between 24 –
35 years
