The Education
Service Commission (ESC) is established by article 167 91) of the 1995
Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its
functions, authority and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of
Education Service Commission is to see “quality education delivered by
efficient and effective education service personnel.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deputize the Principal;
- Carry-out financial planning and management for the institution;
- Ensure efficient implementation of all academic programmes for the
institution; - Assist in the co-ordination and ensure the preparation of
departmental schemes of work and lesson plans; - Chair the Disciplinary Committee of the institution;
- Ensure integrity of internal and external examinations,
administration and supervision; - Establish the required materials for training and ensure their
rational distribution and utilization; - Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in any Engineering/ Technical
Education field; - A minimum of 9 years teaching experience, 3 of which should have
been at the level of Principal lecturer; - Must be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports;
- Registration with a Technological/Engineering Profession body is an
added advantage

Secretary, Education Service Commission, and P.O. Box 7196, Kampala.
