Living Water
International (LWI) is a global Non-Governmental organization that exists to
demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed
clean water, and to experience “living water”- the gospel of Jesus
Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water International
Uganda (LWIU) was formed in 2009. LWIU is an affiliate of Living Water
International based in Houston, Texas, USA that was founded in 1990 and
currently works in over 20+ countries across Latin America, the Caribbean,
Sub-Saharan Africa, and India. LWI Uganda runs an integrated Water Sanitation
Hygiene (WASH) program in South Western Uganda & we partner with other
like-minded organsations to provide safe drinking water, Community Mobilisation
& Gospel Proclamation, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion to communities
across Uganda.
About SHARE Program:
The Sanitation,
Hygiene Assistance for Refugees (SHARE) Program will deliver high-quality
holistic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in Nakivale, Oruchinga,
Rwamwanja and Kyaka II settlements in South Western Uganda. SHARE will improve
health outcomes of the refugees and host communities through: community) in
sustainable management of water and sanitation services in Nakivale, Oruchinga
through: a) increased adaption of appropriate hygienic practices; b) increased
access to and use of improved sanitation and water products/services c)
strengthened capacity of the local structures (church and Rwamwanja and Kyaka
II settlements), South Western Uganda. These interventions will be implemented
at the household level and at local institutions including schools, health
facilities, churches, mosques and marketplaces.
Job Summary:  The Water Engineering Specialist will be
responsible for the design and delivery of high-quality Water and Sanitation
Infrastructure for the program; Provide leadership in surveys, planning,
implementation and monitoring of all construction related deliverables of the
program; Manage the preparation of all technical documents, designs bills of
quantities (BoQs) and drawings as well as securing approvals from relevant
local authorities.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Living Water International (LWI) Water Engineering
    Specialist must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred) in a
    field related to above sectors/professions.
  • At least ten years of relevant working experience in a field related
    to above sectors/professions
  • Strong technical working knowledge and skills in a specific
    sector/profession is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience working with government officials, donors and
    private sector stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing and implementation of programs in an
    emergency context is preferred.
  • Prior experience with US government funded programs is preferred.
