Denmark was founded in 2000 by Ruth and Carsten Jespersen. Before that, Ruth
and Carsten were volunteers in Kampala where Ruth taught in a school in the
slums and Carsten taught in Computer / music and built an orphanage outside
Kampala. Necessity for the children is the driving force but the reward comes
when even when a child is saved from malnutrition or ill-treatment or perhaps
just when the child can be allowed to go to school and get food like all other
children.
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor of Social Work and Social
Administration - At least five years of working experience with infants and toddlers.
- You are a Ugandan by nationality.
- You love children and know how you can get their trust.
- You are a mature, bold and happy person, you have good self esteem,
self motivating and not afraid to having an opinion. - You are willing to work in a christian organisation and work under
christian values. - Keen attention to detail, administrative, organisational and written
and verbal communication skills are essential functions of this position. - Fluency in English and Luganda.
- Good knowledge about the children’s law in Uganda.
- Working independently within expressed parameters, regularly
scheduled tasks and commit yourself to strict deadlines is essential. - Good working knowledge in computer
- Ability to learn complex procedures swiftly and execute multiple
tasks in an efficient manner. - Strong planning, organisational and reporting skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take
initiative and ability to work as an effective team member
