Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and take responsibility of production shifts
- Supervise and provide technical guidance and support to subordinates
in the manufacturing department - Oversee preventive maintenance and report any malfunctions of the
machines to the productions Officer - Assign work to subordinates
- Work in liaison with the productions officer assist in the appraisal
and performance of subordinates - Prepare daily shift production reports and participate in making production
plans - Actively participate in routine stock taking exercises in the plant
- Keenly monitor movement of finished products from the production
plant to the warehouse. - Maintains quality service by reviewing and enforcing organizational
standard operating procedures and ISO standards. - Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing
personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources;
maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. - Train and develop successors / subordinates
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Officer
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Mukwano Shift Supervisor, Plastics,
Detergent Powder, Beverages Section job must hold an ordinary diploma in
mechanical engineering or any additional training in a related field - At least two years of working experience in plastics, detergent
& Beverages production in the same position in a manufacturing set up. - Good communication skills for both oral and written, good numerical
ability, positive attitude, a team player, flexible, results focused,
takes initiative and is creative. - Should have the ability to adjust to changing technology and ability
to perform to expected standards. - Mechanical ability, physical strength and stamina and the ability to
work in high places
