soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care products
and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Supervise and take responsibility of production shifts
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance and support to subordinates
    in the manufacturing department
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and report any malfunctions of the
    machines to the productions Officer
  • Assign work to subordinates
  • Work in liaison with the productions officer assist in the appraisal
    and performance of subordinates
  • Prepare daily shift production reports and participate in making production
    plans
  • Actively participate in routine stock taking exercises in the plant
  • Keenly monitor movement of finished products from the production
    plant to the warehouse.
  • Maintains quality service by reviewing and enforcing organizational
    standard operating procedures and ISO standards.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing
    personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources;
    maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Train and develop successors / subordinates
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Officer



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Mukwano Shift Supervisor, Plastics,
    Detergent Powder, Beverages Section job must hold an ordinary diploma in
    mechanical engineering or any additional training in a related field
  • At least two years of working experience in plastics, detergent
    & Beverages production in the same position in a manufacturing set up.
  • Good communication skills for both oral and written, good numerical
    ability, positive attitude, a team player, flexible, results focused,
    takes initiative and is creative.
  • Should have the ability to adjust to changing technology and ability
    to perform to expected standards.
  • Mechanical ability, physical strength and stamina and the ability to
    work in high places
