Job Summary:   More often than not, young graduates do not
get opportunities for real interface with the work environment that relates to
their areas study prior to being ushered into the field of work. Hence,
engagement of an intern will give the youth an opportunity to gain experience
to prepare them for the job market and/or self-employment. Internship also
offers opportunities for networking with like-minded professionals. Given the
above background the Sponsorship department in the Lira Program Area needs a graduate
intern to train, develop and support the Sponsorship Team. The incumbent will
boost sponsor retention through processing of timely and quality
communications. The jobholder will also contribute towards meeting the
sponsorship commitments
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain cordial working relations with children, their families and
    local authorities (sub-county, parish and village) and ensure they are
    adequately consulted / informed of Plan’s operations and investments.
  • Coordinate caseload management and where enrollment is necessary,
    take lead.
  • Ensure community resource rooms become coordinating centers of all
    development initiatives within the parish.
  • Facilitate a highly participatory process (that involves children,
    youth and women) in the production of Sponsorship Program Area Reports
  • Ensure all sponsor visits are well managed.
  • Ensure that Plan’s Child Protection policy and principles are
    adhered to by all associates.
  • Act as the first point of contact for unannounced visits in the
    areas of operation
  • Visit each sponsored child at least once a year and complete a home
    visit report.
Key Deliverables:
  • Monthly production of timely and quality communications
  • Monthly dispatch of sponsored children communications
  • Monthly filing of sponsored children communications
  • Gifts tracking
  • Home visits.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants must be fresh graduates who have completed their
    degrees in the recent 18 months with Bachelor’s degrees in Social
    Sciences, Community development, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of working in a 
    Non-Governmental organizational environment
  • Knowledge of taking still photography, videography, and story
    writing style of communication.
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills with strong
    English language. capability (written and oral) and ability to clearly
    communicate complex ideas and principles.
  • Experience with personal computing, email and general office
    productivity software.
