Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries is to “Transform
Subsistence Farming to Commercial Agriculture”. The Government of Uganda has
received credit from the African Development Bank towards financing the
Agriculture Value Chain Development Project (AVCP1). The main goal of the
project is to contribute to poverty reduction and economic growth in Uganda
through enhanced productivity and commercialization of agriculture.
will lead the technical implementation of the value chain development
activities through planning and management of all operational activities under
Component 1 on Production and Productivity Enhancement for Maize, Rice and
Dairy/ Beef value chains, and, Component 3 on Market Development and Trade
Facilitation. .
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or
Agricultural related field - A Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural
Economics or Soil Science from a recognized University - A minimum of eight years of experience working on at least one of
the country’s strategic or priority value chains in Agriculture or Rural
Development Projects. - Experience of working with the private sector in value chain
development will be an added advantage
