Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is established under
the PPDA Act No.1 of 2003 to develop standards and regulate procurement and
disposal practices in respect of all Procuring and Disposing Entities which
include Central Government Ministries and Departments, Local Governments, State
Enterprises, Constitutional and Statutory Bodies and post primary training
institutions.

Job Summary: The Senior Finance Officer will support the
manager finance and administration in budgeting, reconciliations, payments,
revenue management and accurate financial reporting

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the budget development process by liaising with the
directorates in collection of directorate work plans - Participate in the development of PPDA’s operational budget ensuring
that directorate activities have been budgeted - Developing and managing the budget tracker to ensure that planned
activities are being implemented in time and within the allocated budget
lines - Reviewing the necessary receipt documentation to ensure that
requests are correct and match the planned budget expenditure - Supervising the cashier to ensure that all cash procedures are being
followed in line with policy and guidelines from the ministry of finance /
funders - Reviewing revenue management procedures to monitor the potential
risks and developing solutions to mitigate the risks - Review requisitions forms submitted contain all relevant accurate information and that the requests
match the budget commitment tracker - Enter payment vouchers into the IFMS so as to generate / trigger the
payment and raise awareness to the director for verification an approval - Managing the payments records register
- Review the Solomon system entries to verify and confirm that the right codes and
- periods ( chart of accounts) have been selected for posting
- Review the developed weekly cash flow projections report to ensure
that appropriate funds have been allocated / planned for PPDA activities - Input financial data the Trial Balance for accurate reporting
- Updating the Solomon system with the budget and releases from IFMS
on a quarterly basis ensuring that all systems are fully reconciled and
correct - Reconciliation of unbalanced ledgers to identify the irregularities,
mis-postings and ensuring bank reconciliations in both Solomon and IFMS
for payments and fuel cards v - Assisting in preparation of quarterly progress reports (accrual
financial statements) for audit and review by management from the FRX
reporting system. - Take the lead to review and ensure that the computation of Taxes and
NSSF Contribution for Employees is done accurately - Develop and Prepare schedules for taxes (PAYE&WHT) and NSSF
Contribution and statutory payments ensuring that they are effected
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold an Honors Degree in Commerce
(Accounting) / Business Administration (Accounting) and related field - Membership of ICPAU, CPA, ACCA and any other relevant professional
body - Three years’ experience in working in a finance environment
- Experience in managing teams will be desirable
