Title: Procurement
and Logistics Expert
(WHH)
Uganda
(WHH), founded in 1962, is today one of the biggest Non-Governmental Aid and
development agencies in Germany. We campaign against worldwide hunger and for
sustainable food and nutrition security by promoting site-appropriate farming,
establishing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, improving
healthcare and education for people living in rural areas as well as promoting
skills development for youth. In Uganda, Welthungerhilfe currently is operating
in the districts of Moroto, Yumbe, Katakwi, Arua, and Fort Portal with its
Country Office in Kampala.
the Country Office with direct support with the professional implementation of
the project activities as delegated by the Country Office and Project Managers
Supervision
and Coordination of tender processes for the country office and upon request
for the project offices based on Welthungerhilfe regulations for awarding of
contracts (RAC) and donor regulations
Coordination
with Procurement Unit at Head Office
Ensuring
administration of the entire procurement documentation in country office
(procurement file)
The
Expert is responsible for ensuring that storage facilities are duly functioning
and are correctly managed
Vehicle
Fleet Management
Ensuring
material resources are correctly planned in agreement with the Head of Project
Helping
heads of projects establish material requirements
Coordination
with project office and offering advice related to procurement, logistics and
fleet management when needed
Induction
and (refresher) training of Welthungerhilfe staff in charge of procurement
processes, logistics and fleet management
Planning
and organizing imported goods (import regulations, customs handling)
Identification
of appropriate office furnishings and fittings and maintenance)
The
ideal candidate for the Procurement and Logistics Expert must hold a Degree in
procurement and Logistics Management/ Procurement and Purchasing;
Strong
organizational skills;
Ability
to interact effectively with personnel.
Excellent
oral and written English skills.
Computer
skills on MS Office programs, especially in MS Excel.
At least
three years of work experience doing related work
Experience
working with International NGOs
Strong
communication and facilitation skills and ability to establish good working
relationships
Experience
in working independently and result oriented
Demonstrated
personal accountability and drive to serve others.
Strong
organizational, planning and time- management skills, detail-oriented
Information
dissemination skills, ability to understand, explain and contextualize
Able to
prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines.
Able to
analyze problems and design solutions at strategic and functional levels.
Ability
to work effectively under pressure
High
integrity and willingness to conduct her/himself transparently
A
demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action as to
not delay program activities.
Ability
to learn fast. A clear understanding of procurement ethics is essential.
