Job Title:  Pharmacist

About US:
In 1995, Epicentre
created a permanent research centre in Uganda to support MSF projects in the
region. The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara is to conduct clinical
research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public
health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre
collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology
(MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara
Research Centre. The Mbarara research centre is located in Mbarara
Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a BSc in Pharmacy and registration with
    Uganda Pharmacy Board and Uganda Pharmaceutical Society Or a Diploma in
    Pharmacy Technician with minimum 1 year experience in a pharmaceutical
    company or similar research settings.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • Be familiar with the standard practice involved in conducting a
    clinical trial, including the policy and procedures, restrictions,
    adherence to privacy and confidentiality, accountability of drugs and
    adverse event reporting procedures.
  • Working experience in research institutions in general, clinical
    trials in particular and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously as part of a team with
    other staff s.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills, for
    building and maintaining good relationships with fellow staff patients and
    other stake holders.
  • Result oriented and willing to learn and develop, flexible with
    professional attitude.
  • Up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of current practice in Clinical
    Trials.
  • Competencies: teamwork, flexibility, commitment and service,
    knowledge of MS Office. Proactive and result oriented, stress management
